Sharon has been on a journey to help professional women break through the blocks that are preventing them from living their best lives.

Dr. Kaaren Douglas, The Follow Up Doctor

Dr. Douglas is a retired family physician and specialist in the care of the elderly. She had a solo practice in Illinois, and obtained a postdoctoral degree in Public Health, after which she enjoyed a career in academic medicine in Kansas City and at the University of California at Irvine. She re-entered the private sector as the Director of Geriatric Programs at the Motion Picture and Television Fund in Calabasas, the Old Actors Home, and was part of the planning of a major expansion of the facilities there. But as an administrator, she was one of many affected by a major lay off in 1998. This allowed her career to take a different direction, and for her to return to her entrepreneurial roots. She founded Douglas Marketing Concepts, and now coaches small business owners on networking and follow up.

Rachel Shur, Cancer Survivor  & Executive Director of UCAAN
United Cancer Advocacy Action Network, a 501c3 organization in Thousand Oaks. Rachel saw many needs through her own cancer experience that she felt should have been offered and available to patients. She founded UCAAN as a resource organization. UCAAN is about Making the Change - showing others that patients are in need of financial assistance now to cover care giver services, temporary housing during treatments, aid for treatments of the side effects, but also 1-on-1 counseling with a board certified counselor who is a survivor and Skype support groups that allow survivors across the country to get involved.
Attend this event to learn more! ♥ UCAAN is Making the Change - Patients should be a priority, not just research.
